Interactive Comics for Capstone Learning

Supported a federal client by creating a series of interactive comic book-style knowledge checks to serve as the capstone activity for a week-long learning engagement. To reflect the client's vision of their agents as guardians and heroes, a unique visual direction was chosen, complete with a classic comic book look and feel.
Users progressed through narrative panels and faced branching multiple-choice questions that showed positive or negative outcomes.
Chapters featured real people and places, and the internal marketing included an incentive, those who completed the course might be featured as a character in future chapters!
Role Expanded: Visual Design, & Illustration
Primary visual resource, responsible for establishing the unique comic inspired visual direction and executing all illustrations web UI assets. This included hosting creative direction workshops with the client and working closely with a web developer to manage the complexity of the branching narrative structure.
Visual Direction: Established the unique comic book-style and tone guidelines for the project.
Illustration and Artwork: Created all custom character and location illustrations for the narrative chapters.
UI for Web Course Navigation: Designed the navigation and UI elements, working with the web developer to manage the complexity of the branching narrative for the LMS platform.
