Exploring AR for Healthcare Professionals
Partnered with Stafford Childers Health on a proof-of-concept to explore the use of AR/VR technology for pre-surgery planning. The core objective was determining how 3D volumetric imaging (surgical scans) could be better visualized and manipulated using early AR headsets like HoloLens and Rift.
This solution was designed to enhance pre-surgery briefings for the medical staff and help surgeons better explain complex procedures to patients.
Role Expanded: Visual Design, & Prototyping
Senior Visual Designer on this rapid prototype, my focus was on establishing UI/UX best practices for gesture-based navigation. This required extensive testing and cross-collaboration with the EXD team as we defined the creative standard for this emerging platform.
Concepting and Pre-Production Visuals: Developed initial visualizations and UI concepts for effective 3D volumetric data manipulation in the AR space.
UI/UX Prototyping: Directly designed the UI elements and interaction models, focusing heavily on intuitive feedback for gesture-based navigation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partnered with UX design and engineering to establish UI/UX best practices for new AR workflows.
