Gamification for Fraud Awareness Course

  • Technology: Desktop e-learning

  • Role: Illustration, Visual Design, Captivate UI

  • Tools: Adobe CC, Captivate

  • Confidentiality Note: Due to restrictions with federal and sensitive clients, some content and descriptions are intentionally vague to maintain security compliance.

Supported a nationwide retail client to create gamified e-learning courses, published in Captivate and hosted on their internal Learning Management System. To avoid unconscious bias while exploring topics of suspicious and fraudulent behavior, a unique visual direction was developed using anthropomorphic characters to keep the focus on actions, not the appearance of individuals.

This approach was paired with highly realistic equipment illustrations to test user familiarity with tools and signs of tampering. The client reported this course was rated highly, with feedback surveys often citing: "The training with the animals was my favorite!"

Role Expanded: Visual Design, & Illustration

Graphic resource, responsible for establishing the unique visual direction. This included hosting creative direction workshops with the client, developing the overall visual style, creating all custom illustrations and graphics, and handling light UI work for the Captivate course navigation.

  • Visual Direction: Established visual tone and style guides after hosting creative workshops with the client.

  • Illustration and Artwork: Created all custom anthropomorphic characters and equipment vector illustrations.

  • UI for Course Navigation: Executed light UI work for the course's navigational elements within the Captivate shell.
