Leveraging AR for Hands-On Equipment Training

Initially developed as an industry solution to train a production workforce on key equipment (e.g, air compressor units) through an AR-assisted repair walkthrough and practice app.

The core application was later adapted into a highly effective educational demo tool. The simplified experience included educational overlays, that helped explain AR technology application in manufacturing, and its potential integration into existing CRM platforms like Salesforce.

The solution's intuitive, eye-catching interface and easy-to-understand use case made this demo a success at DU-Hub and other industry events and conferences.

Role Expanded: Visual Design, Prototyping, and UI/UX

My role centered on driving the visual design, prototyping, and UI/UX implementation of this novel AR experience. This required constant alignment with user experience architects and a deep understanding of the overall solution strategy for effective demonstration.

  • Visual Direction: Developed mood boards, visual design briefs to establish the overall visual tone, color palette, and typographic treatment for the AR experience.

  • UX Collaboration: Worked closely with the UX and dev team to define a new workflow heavily reliant on visual cues and contextual overlays that guided the user through the repair process.

  • UI Implementation: Designed the core UI design system and all visual assets required for navigation, informational overlays, and integration with the camera view.

  • Demo Facilitation: Frequently served as a demo facilitator at industry events and conferences, requiring a thorough understanding of the technology and solution strategy to host meaningful conversations with prospective clients.
